From: Sikeston, Mo.
To: Union City, Tn.
Miles: 55.42
Climb: 1076
Grade: 0%

The final day of the Tour de Kentucky is a half day ride, most of which is on the flats of the Mississippi River delta. This without question has to be the ugliest part of Missouri: absolutely zero asthetic value whatsoever! However, our ride through this desolation does end on a high note: the Dorena-Hickman Ferry, which transports us across the mighty Mississippi River, from Dorena, Missouri to Hickman, Kentucky. From Hickman, the border of Tennessee, of our 8th and final state, is only 8 miles away, however the official terminus of the Tour de Kentucky is an additional eight miles of riding, into the friendly town of Union City - our final destination. Upon arriving into Union City, we will celebrate at Ryan's Steak House, the best Union City has to offer! After Lunch we the drive home will take only 4 hours, as compared to the four days required to pedal there on a bicycle! And while there is much to be said for our interstate highway system, I am confident that the truly best way to see the beauty of Kentucky is on a bicycle, traveling at 17 rather than 70 miles per hour.

Thus ends another Tour de Kentucky!
